Hundreds of farmers of the San Amador Cooperative cultivate the olive groves of Martos, a town in the province of Jaén, Southern Spain. For decades now this picturesque community has had the distinction of containing the largest area of olive trees of any municipality in the world..

You will see the words “CALIDAD CERTIFICADA,” or “Certified Quality,” on every bottle of Tuccioliva oil. This stamp of quality, given only to Extra Virgin Olive Oils of exceptional attributes and local character, is authorized by the Agricultural and Fisheries Council of the Junta de Andalucía, a part of the administrative body that governs Southern Spain.  It is only to harvest in October only with green olives and get the oils only with cold extraction.

Taste  Peña de Martos:

Colour: green-yellow, with golden reflections, shiny and lighting.

In nose: Complex flavours of greens and fresh fruit. Aromatic herbs like basil and fennel mix with flavours of tomato and  avocado. Notes of appel, banana and ripe almond.

In mouth: Very similar with the olfactory perception, soft entry, near to sweet, later light touches of bitter and spicy,very balanced.

Harvest 2010/2011: Medal “Gold Prestige” in the International Award Terraolivo 2011- Jerusalen (Israel) and Silver Medal in the International Aword of extra virgin olive oil in Los Angeles (EEUU)
